I am very DISTURBED to say the least..and I am sure..

you will be too after reading this. http://www.wrightslaw.com/news/06/abuse.nys.regs.htm

What is NY State thinking? I am truly upset by this. It is very scary to think this will be allowed in the schools children attend. When in life we would not or could not according to the law do this to prisoners or anyone in custody.

I sure hope parents in NY with children get involved and advocate for their children.

I am SAD.

Yikes! That is insane. I guess I see the reasoning (sort of, using purely my psych degree to look at it), but I most definitely don't agree with it. Sigh... I am leaning more and more toward homeschooling every day.

OMG-I can't believe they are actually going to allow this. I think some thinks - I know some kids with sensory issues need other stimuli - but spraying them with spray and shocking them? WHAT! If they use these tactics they should ONLY be performed by trained professionals - not a teacher-but we know that won't happen. Teachers will use these tactics and get away with it because of the rules...

I read this yesterday and was stunned - am still stunned! I can't see how they can get away with something like this!
